  1. Easy as Speech

    June 10, 2011 by demitinay

Haven’t you ever wondered why school never taught us how to speak?

I mean yes, we were taught words. How to communicate. How to use them. But we were never really taught how to effectively use words to express our thoughts clearly and eloquently.

You may contradict my statement but it’s true. The first thing we learn as a child is how to speak yet even in school no one teaches us how to think correctly.

I’m sure that many of you contradict yourself most of the time. Personally I envy those who can organize their thoughts eloquently. I only wished that school also taught us how to think and communicate clearly.

  2. People from Fish Kill Towns-

    June 3, 2011 by demitinay

I couldn’t help but feel bad for the people living around the area where the massive amount of fish carcasses are, sayang yung home speakers.

Apart from the fact that fishing industry in the area has been greatly affected, the people living around it have to suffer with the smell. Reportedly, the smell of dead fish could cause several health discomforts. It could trigger asthma and could cause skin itching.

Although there is the option of evacuation, I doubt that many of them will have somewhere else to go. It looked like most of the residents around the area have lived there all their lives.

I can only hope and pray that things will get better.

  3. The Stress of Life -

    June 1, 2011 by demitinay

It’s nice to indulge in relaxation sometimes and temporarily forget about all the stressful things in life.

Oftentimes there’s just too much to think about. In order to survive in this world, if you’re living alone, you have to worry about the following things: having a job, paying bills, paying obligatory dues to society/government, food budget, clothing budget, and if you have a family, family budget.

The biggest stress of all is maintaining all these things each and everyday for the rest of your life.

Sometimes a temporary sanctuary to temporarily forget all these worries is a nice reprieve from life. Try some time to visit anxiety drug treatment centers.

  4. Dreaming and Succeeding

    May 20, 2011 by demitinay

Everyone has dreams and not everyone gets to succeed in realizing that dream. Recently however, I’ve had the chance to watch Justin Bieber’s movie, Never Say Never.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not a big fan of his. I was however, very much intrigued by the fact that they’ve made a movie about him. I was expecting it to be dull; just your typical sensationalized pop star movie. It turned out I was wrong.

The movie was actually quite inspiring. Justin Bieber’s road to fame wasn’t actually an instant one. He worked really hard on it. He was just a kid who dreamt big. But because he was willing to work for it, he succeeded.

One of the biggest factors that can help you realize your dream is believing in yourself. And if you do, then there’s no stopping you from succeeding.

  5. The Land of Fiction-

    May 16, 2011 by demitinay

Fiction to me is just one of the most amazing thing that the human race has ever indulged in. To write fiction, to read fiction, and to experience the worlds that fiction can weave is just an irreplaceable experience.

With fiction comes no boundaries; everything that you can think of or have ever imagined is fair game. There can be wizards and witches; the land of magic. Superheroes who can fly, become invisible, and all the ever impossible powers that these fictional characters can posses. Myths of history that come to life in films.

Whether in a book or in a movie, the land of fiction is certainly one world that I would forever like to indulge in, you know the one with golden hot tub covers. It provides a temporary sanctuary for people to forget the stress in life for a moment and enjoy a happy world.

  6. Literary Fiction-

    May 12, 2011 by demitinay

Recently, I’ve read a book given to me as a gift last Christmas. Totally different from what I love like medical stories that has something to do with medical scrubs. It was a book written by Kresley Cole and for me, it was really just refreshing.

To read biographies and real life stories is amazing because you get to know and experience another person’s life and even perhaps learn a thing or two from their past mistakes. But to read literary fiction is simply mind blowing. Instead of appreciating a person’s story, you get to experience a whole different world where things that we’ve only heard existed on myths.

Kresley Cole’s book is a wonderful romance book that is also imbued with fantastic adventure and action. It’s a world of Norse mythology that is combined with the modern world and it was really a fantastic read.

  7. Mood Swings-

    May 9, 2011 by demitinay

It is generally believed that women are the most prone to experience mood swings because of the monthly cramps that they get to experience. I however have experienced first hand proof that men are just as equally prone to suffer mood swings as women are. They love nike inflict wrestling shoes

There are a lot of things that can certainly cause one person to experience a mood swing. But the most common cause is being physically distressed or uncomfortable.

You might not be consciously aware that you are physically distressed, but mood swings are actually signals that the body sends to the brain to make you aware that you have distressed it.

Notice how a person tends to be grouchy for the entire day if he/she did not get enough sleep on the night before.

The best remedy for avoiding mood swings is to take proper care of your body. Although you may feel fine, it finds other ways of protesting like giving you mood swings

  8. The Art of Writing-

    May 5, 2011 by demitinay

Not everyone is gifted with the ability to express thoughts through writing flawlessly. Compared this to a malfunctioning plantation shutter. Everyone has to learn at some point in their lives how to phrase words and how to convey a message. The reality is however that expressing one’s thoughts doesn’t come easily to everyone.

Some are born with an innate ability and some are not. And I personally fall under the category of not. I had to work hard and to constantly practice how to express my thoughts. One very productive way in improving this particular skill is constantly writing a blog.

There are a lot of things to talk about and to express about in a day. Apart from helping to preserve those thoughts and memories you want to share, you are also at the same time honing your skill.

    It’s a very fruitful practice.

  9. Carpe Diem-

    April 18, 2011 by demitinay

This phrase is often used by most of the people I know to the point of it becoming overused from my perspective. But there’s no denying that it’s resonance in almost everything that is part of history has a very good point.

Death cannot be predicted nor escaped. Everyone dies at some point. You never know how and you’ll never get a warning when. Hence, “Carpe Diem” the latin phrase for “seize the day”, emphasizes always and again that we have to live life to it’s fullest. It may seem that a day is unimportant especially if it feels uneventful and well…just another day. Have you ever considered the possibility that in the next minute or second, death awaits you and suddenly you’re filled with regrets?

Death chooses neither age, time, nor place. Everyone is fair game and we should learn to value each and every moment. This is brought to you by death.. or the barcode scanners product.

  10. Old dog learning New tricks

    April 15, 2011 by demitinay

There are artists who are considered as legends because their careers have surpassed the given life span that most get in the industry of music. But names like Madonna, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and Mariah Carey continue to resonate today. The only sad thing is that most of them try to adapt to what’s “in” in the music industry today and have completely shaken off the trademark songs they’ve made famous and made them legends in turn.

Take for example Mariah’s newest songs and albums. Most of us has just been used to the old songs she used to sing and most loved and identified her with those. But changing into a new style to adapt with the times simply didn’t suit her. Whitney Houston as well seemed to be taking the same route. Although no one can deny that the change in style for Madonna certainly suited her fairly well.
