Learn How to Ballroom Dance

The times were ballroom dancing was just for the old and the wealthy are gone. On tv in today’s world, dance shows are into ballroom dancing as well as dance sports. Children are now into this types of dancing hoping to be in dance sports teams and competitions. This is also a great way to enjoy the reception during wedding dances and other social events. What is so good about it? Well first off, you get to learn several different ballroom dances.

If you are just starting out on ballroom dancing, then its recommended that you try the slower dances first. The Waltz for example, is a common and popular dance, and it can be easily learned. After you get the easy dances out of the way and master them, then its time you move on to the more complex and much more faster dances.

Here are the first two dances that I learned.

Waltz – if you have learned the dance move called the close dance hold, you will be using it during the waltz. This dance is probably much easier to learn because it is much slower than other types of ballroom dancing. If you have mastered the footwork and basic steps of the waltz, then you should have no problem learning the other ballroom dances.

Tango – the tango is another ballroom dancing dance that is a very romantic and passionate dance. If you have seen it in the movies, the tango is sometimes associated with guys biting on a long-stem rose as he seduces the woman. Although this type originated in Argentina, it has now evolved into American style tango to Uruguayan tango and European influences.
